A properly installed washing machine cabinet is stable, safe, and quiet. This checklist will help you prevent leaks, vibrations, and damage, ensuring your appliances fit perfectly and are level. Whether you're using a stacking setup or placing your washer and dryer side by side , the steps below will help you from preparation to flawless installation. Tip: Always consult the manual for your model and use the correct wall plugs and fasteners for your wall type.
Preliminary: Check connection points
Before you start, check that water, drainage, and electrical outlets are logically accessible behind or next to the cabinet and that the floor is sufficiently load-bearing. Determine the route of hoses and cables and ensure that taps and electrical outlets aren't hidden behind fixed panels. Also consider the opening direction of doors and drawer fronts, and the workspace you need for cleaning filters or using an emergency hose. Want to determine the overall layout first? Check out our page on laundry room design, including dimensions, ventilation, and connection points.
- Water - Tap close to the machine, easily accessible. Use a hose with an aqua-stop and check the rubber seals and couplings.
- Drain - Siphon in good condition, drain pipe free of blockages. Secure the drain hose in a bend to prevent backflow.
- Electrical - Grounded outlet, preferably a separate circuit. No extension cords or reels.
- Floor & walls - Flat floor and a load-bearing, sturdy wall for wall brackets. Measure the clear height and depth, including plugs and elbows.
- Tools - Spirit level, drill/driver, plugs/screws, torque wrench or open-end wrench, sealant and mounting brackets.

Step-by-step plan for installing a washing machine cabinet
-
Unpack and inspect - Lay out all panels, rails, screws, and brackets in an orderly manner. Check for any shipping damage and compare the contents with the parts list. Read the manual in its entirety first so you know the order and avoid any surprises.
-
Assembling and leveling the cabinet - Assemble the cabinet body according to the instructions and adjust the leveling feet so that the cabinet is level lengthwise and widthwise. A perfectly horizontal base reduces vibration and prevents doors from running crooked. Check with a spirit level and adjust with small quarter turns.
-
Anchoring with wall brackets - Mark the drill holes and use suitable wall plugs for your wall (plaster, sand-lime brick, concrete). Attach the supplied wall brackets securely, but without pulling the cabinet. A secure anchor is essential for spin dryers and stacked configurations .
-
Connecting the water and drain - Connect the supply hose to the faucet and tighten by hand, then give it a quarter turn with the wrench. Position the drain hose according to the manual and secure it in the bracket. Open the faucet and check for leaks. Briefly run water to test whether the drain is draining properly.
-
Safely manage your electrical system - Plug the power cord directly into a grounded outlet, without intermediate plugs or junction boxes. Ensure the outlet remains accessible for service. If you are unsure about the circuit configuration or load, have an electrician check it.
-
Positioning and securing appliances - Slide the washing machine onto the base plate or runners and level the machine itself. Install the anti-tip or safety device according to the instructions. Position the dryer and, if applicable, use the spacer or supplied fixing. Check the clearance around cords and hoses. Do you have a single machine setup? See the installation and space requirements for the Single series .
-
Minimize and adjust vibrations - Activate anti-vibration feet or dampers and test with a short spin cycle. Listen for resonance, then adjust the feet or cabinet minimally. Check the fronts and soft-close settings for a tight-fitting system.
Laundry cabinets are TÜV-certified, feature soft-close and anti-vibration solutions, and can hold up to 140 kg. Thanks to the plug-and-play design, they can be installed quickly and securely, with plenty of room for plumbing and maintenance.
