A well-installed washing machine cabinet is stable, safe, and quiet. With this checklist, you can prevent leaks, vibrations, and damage, and be sure that your appliances fit perfectly and are level. Whether you use a stacked setup or place the washing machine and dryer side by side, the steps below will guide you from preparation to flawless installation. Tip: always use the manual for your model and work with the correct plugs and fasteners for your wall type.
Beforehand: check connection points
Before you start, check whether water, drainage, and electricity are logically accessible behind or next to the cabinet and whether the floor has sufficient load-bearing capacity. Determine the route of hoses and cables and ensure that taps and sockets do not end up behind fixed panels. Also consider the door and drawer front opening directions and the workspace you need to clean filters or use an emergency hose. Want to first determine the overall layout? Check out our page on setting up a laundry room with dimensions, ventilation, and connection points.
- Water – Tap close to the machine, easily accessible. Use a hose with aqua-stop and check rubbers and connections.
- Drainage – Siphon in order, drain pipe free of blockages. Secure the drain hose in a bend to prevent backflow.
- Electricity – Grounded socket, preferably on a separate circuit. No extension cords or reels.
- Floor & walls – Flat floor and load-bearing, sturdy wall for wall brackets. Measure free height and depth including plugs and bends.
- Tools – Level, drill driver, plugs/screws, torque wrench or spanner, sealant, and mounting brackets.

Step-by-step washing machine cabinet installation
-
Unpack and check – Lay out all panels, rails, screws, and brackets neatly. Check for transport damage and compare contents with the parts list. Read the manual completely first so you know the order and avoid surprises.
-
Assemble the cabinet and level it – Assemble the frame according to the manual and adjust the leveling feet so the cabinet is level lengthwise and widthwise. A perfectly horizontal base reduces vibrations and prevents doors from misaligning. Check with a level and fine-tune with small quarter turns.
-
Anchor with wall brackets – Mark drilling points and use suitable plugs for your wall (plaster, sand-lime brick, concrete). Attach the supplied wall brackets tightly but without pulling the cabinet. A firm anchoring is essential during spinning and for stacked setups.
-
Connect water and drainage – Connect the supply hose to the tap and tighten by hand, then a quarter turn with a wrench. Position the drain hose according to the manual and secure it in the bracket. Open the tap and check for leaks. Let water run briefly to test if the drainage flows properly.
-
Arrange electricity safely – Plug directly into a grounded socket, without adapters or power strips. Ensure the socket remains accessible for service. If you’re unsure about circuit layout or load, have an electrician check it.
-
Place and secure appliances – Slide the washing machine onto the base plate or guides and level the machine itself. Install the anti-tip or securing set according to instructions. Place the dryer and, if applicable, use the spacer or supplied fixation. Check clearance around cords and hoses. Have a single-machine setup? See the installation and space requirements of the Single series.
-
Minimize vibrations and adjust – Activate anti-vibration feet or dampers and test with a short spin cycle. If you hear resonance, adjust feet or cabinet minimally. Check fronts and soft-close settings for a tight closing set.
Wasdroom cabinets are TÜV-certified, equipped with soft-close and anti-vibration solutions, and support up to 140 kg. Thanks to the plug-and-play design, you can install quickly and solidly, with space for piping and maintenance.
